Harper Takes Royals Invitational Crown, Freshman Impress

On Friday, the Friars took on the Naylors Run course against Upper Darby, Marple Newtown, and Interboro. The force of the upstart program started off their cross country campaign on the right foot.

Senior Tony Harper lead the path from start to finish, winning the Royals Invitational at a time of 17:00.3. Not far behind Harper was freshman Brian McGarrity, who ran an impressive 18:22.2, finishing 4th overall. The youth continued as Billy DiRita finished in a strong 11th running 20:28.9, followed by senior Rob Radico at 19th. The Friars fifth man for the day was freshman Mike Gross than continued to push to the end in his Friars debut. Mike finished 32nd overall, cementing a 3rd place crown for the team.

Sophomore Jimmy McDonnell stepped onto the XC course for the first time as well, putting up a respectable 24:50.2 to start his young career.

The Friars look to continue to build as the move into the PCL Regular Season schedule, with the Briarwood Invitational right around the corner.
