Former Bonner Rower to compete in World Championships

Charles Anderson , Class of 2012.
Charles rowed for Bonner all 4 years and is now rowing for Penn AC which is also Bonners boys Boathouse. Charles competed and made the team this summer and his boat beat Vesper Rowing Club last week and qualified the boat to row in the World Trials on 6/26/13 for Team USA in the Under 23 category held in Linz, Austria.
Charles is going into his sophomore year and rows for the Temple Mens crew team
The Under 23 event has been in existence for nearly thirty years. Held for the first time in 1976 in Macon, France, under the title "Seniors Match" it eventually became the "Nations Cup" in 1992. FISA's 2005 Extraordinary Congress in Dubrovnik, Croatia, voted to upgrade the World Rowing Under 23 Regatta to World Rowing Championship status.

Boys Crew Wins Silver at the Phila City Championship

Boys Freshman 4 picked up Silver Medals this past Sunday with a time of 05:43.75 over St. Augustine, Eustace,Don Bosco, Concord HS, St. Joseph Prep, Radnor and Shipley.
The Boat consist of Jake Applegate (cox) Dan Dwyer, Jack Sullivan, Connor Lichterman and Brendan McElwee
Our Boys Ltwt Double also won Silver Medals.
Dylan McCreavy and Chris Nichols with a time of 05:07.70 over The Haverford School, Roman Catholic, Montclair and Ridgewood.

The Boys Freshmen 4+ won their first race yesterday 3/17/13 on the Schuylkill River as well as the Boys Varsity Double at the 1st Manny Flick of the season. You could see Bonner Green not only on the riverbanks but all over the Delaware Valley.......Our Prendie Girls JV4+ also won their race and the Girls V4+ also had a strong second place finish. To see the pictures go to the photo section in boys and in girls crew.
The next Bonner-Prendie Crew race will be this Sunday May 5th which is the Phialadelphia City Championships.
The Bonner-Prendie meeting tent will be up with food cooking.
The tent is set up close to the Grandstands. Come out and cheer our rowers on.
